Commodities: Bag Filters and Cartridges

Cartridge Filters

Cartridge filters are used to of remove suspended solids from water. Cartridge filters can be sized to “filter out” contaminants of equal or larger size of the cartridge mean rating. When a cartridge is sized for 5 micron, then solids of 5 micron size or larger would be removed.
In most cases and with proper particle distribution study, cartridge filtration can be done in two stages. During the first stage the process will take out larger sizes of contaminates; during the second stage the process will remove the remaining contaminates down to the mean cartridge size.

Cartridge filters come in standard sizes of 2.5″ diameter and 10″, 20″, 30″ or 40″ length. Other sizes are available as well based on customer requests. Standard filtration rates are 1, 3, 5, 10, 15 and 25 micron. Depending on degree of filtration required and flow needed.

Waterworks can design and size any type of cartridge filter for all applications.

Bag filters

Bag filters are a way of removing suspended solids from water. Bag filters can be sized to “filter out” contaminants of size equal or larger of the mean rating. In most cases and with proper particle distribution study, bag iltration can be done in combination with cartridge filters. During the first stage of the process larger sizes solids are removed. During the second stage it will remove all remaining solids down to the mean size.

Bag filters come in standard sizes of #1, #2, #3 and #4. Other sizes are available based on customer requests. Standard filtration rates are 3, 5, 10, 15 and 25 micron. Depending on degree of filtration and flow required, Waterworks can design any size of bag filters.
