Water System: Ultrafiltration Systems (UF)

Waterworks’ ultrafiltration system consists of membrane filtration technology. This technology retains suspended solids or molecules of high molecular weight and keeps them from passing through the membranes while molecules of 0.2 microns or less pass through to the next level of filtration. The permeate can either be recycled or reused through other filtration methods and systems. The design and build of the UF system can be for all capacities and flow rate and for all applications.

  • Advantages of UF membrane technology over conventional filtration:
  • Consistent and superior water quality
  • Filtrate turbidity < 0.07 NTU
  • Filtrate SDI < 3
  • Small system footprint
  • Low chemical consumption
  • Lower operational costs (i.e. extends the life of reverse osmosis membranes)
  • Characteristics:
  • Removal of particle size down to 0.2 microns
  • Design allows for the reduction of chemicals and consumables
  • Guarantees longer life of reverse osmosis system
  • Consumes less energy
  • Can be used as continuous or batch process
  • Can be skid mounted or containerized.
  • Use of Hydranautics, Dow FILMTEC or GE ultrafiltration membranes
  • Projects:
  • UF Technology for Oil and Gas Production
  • UF Technology used in Fruit Wastewater
  • UF for Chemical Waste Treatment
